Steel Manufacturer boosts cashflow with Multi-Product facility
Facility Type: Confidential Invoice Finance and Asset Finance
Region: Midlands
Facility Value: £2.25m Invoice Finance, £300k Loan and £300k Asset Finance
Introduction to the deal
This client was introduced to us by an brokerage arm of an accountancy firm based in the Midlands.
A long established family business with over 50 years of trading, it was initially run by the father with the son taking over after illness meant the father didn’t want to return to work within the business.
Unfortunately during this transition trade had taken a dip, coupled with a premises move had seen the business making losses, resulting in staff taking a pay cut, directors resigning and a review of charges to their customers. Despite this work the business was struggling to improve its status, its incumbent bank relationship was breaking down and their existing invoice finance facility wasn’t providing the support the business desperately needed. It was facing the very real threat of administration.
The Solution
We stepped in to replace their existing invoice finance facility with a £2.25m confidential facility, along with a £300k Xtra Time Loan facility and a £300k asset finance line too. Our team worked together to pull together this Multi-Product approach, which has allowed the business to release much needed cash, refinance its existing assets and arrange repayments to its customers they previously haven’t been able to pay. The funding has given the business owner the ability to renegotiate new payment terms with clients and debtors and rebuild the relationships.
Outcome of the Deal
The deal has provided the business with a new impetus and forecasts are already showing them to be generating a profit and forecasts are tracking for this to continue. The business owners are beyond grateful for our assistance and support during their application process and are now facing a brighter future.
