Introduction to the deal

When our client, Seven Bro7hers Brewing Co, came to us with a business contract that would see them double their craft ale production to supply J D Wetherspoons venues, we moved quickly to enable them to take advantage of this opportunity.

Born in Salford, the family-run brewery business specialises in the development and production of craft ales. Founded over 11 years ago, the business was created by seven brothers with a background in homebrewing. Since then, it has built a strong reputation for innovative, high-quality craft beers inspired by traditional brewing methods and modern flavour trends.

The business has a core range of 10 different ales and has the capacity to create up to 30 individual ales. Having operated brewpubs and bars across the North West for a decade, while also supplying nearly all of the major supermarkets in the UK, the business came upon the opportunity to supply pump ales to the major pub group, and to do so required an initial cash injection to facilitate the listing.

What we did

Seven Bro7hers received a £250k invoice finance funding solution to unlock cash tied up in unpaid invoices. The flexible funding solution will grow in-line with sales enabling the business to confidently invest in the cost of pump installation, glassware, brewing, barrels and storage to front the initial outlay and roll out across the major pub group.

Speed was of the essence, with the listing launch happening quickly, but we were able to set up a disclosed invoice finance facility in just a few months to give the business immediate access to the working capital it needed.

Outcome of the deal

The specialist invoice finance facility has proved to be an essential tool to ease cashflow. Seven Bro7hers has said it is now well positioned to meet growing demand for its unique craft ales, giving the business a springboard to branch out to other venues and UK supermarkets, fulfilling its ambition to be a top five craft brewer in the UK.

Keith McAvoy, Founder and CEO of Seven Bro7hers, added:“As with any growing business, managing unpaid invoices can be a headache and a hit to your cashflow, and with this invoice finance facility from Time Finance we’ve been able to double our production, and cover the upfront costs associated with this major new listing. Our expansion to stock Wetherspoons is a huge moment for our business - and for all seven brothers.”

The careful delivery of this quick and specialist invoice finance funding solution reflects Time Finance's commitment to supporting our client’s growth goals and unlocking the financial headroom to drive their long-term successes, beyond immediate cash relief.
